Understanding Human Behaviour

Students will explore behavioural science as both an academic discipline and a practical tool, providing a foundation for the whole course.  With content designed by The Behaviouralist, a global behavioural insights consultancy, projects include an in-school behavioural change project and an In-House Internship centred on a campaign or brand.  Students will learn and practise:
  • Strategies for encouraging positive behaviour change
  • The dynamics behind bias, motivation and influence
  • Techniques for building user empathy
As a school we are working with behavioural insight experts The Behaviouralist to design a course on behaviour change.  The course aims to provide students with practical experience and a theoretical background to better understand and influence behaviour in various contexts, such as service and product innovation, social enterprise, and social change.
The Behaviouralist often use the D-BIAS methodology (Diagnose Behaviour, Intervene, Assess, Scale) when working on behaviour change projects. Below is an overview of the D-BIAS approach and how it can be complemented by behavioural science frameworks.
