I & L taster Decision filter

The purpose of this tool is to help see where strengths and opportunities for development lie in an idea. The scoring is just to help the observer – no need to feed the scores back. Where you have scored 1 or 2 you are likely to have a reason – offer that reason in a kind way. 

Score the idea out of 3 for each category. 

1 – The idea doesn’t fulfil this criterion so well

2 – The idea does an OK job at fulfilling the criterion

3 – The idea does an excellent job at fulfilling the criterion

	Criteria	Score
1	Connects to a clear customer segment and problem
2	Could be realistically implemented by the council
3	The idea or concept is innovative, different and interesting
4	Has the potential to create an actual behaviour change

Some possible helpful feedback prompts:

• Where have assumptions been made?
• What might be missing from the thought process?
• Where more detail might be appropriate?
• Where more research might be beneficial
• Where advice might need to be sought

Remember, this is all designed to continue to stimulate thought.
