Mission Model Canvas

The Mission model canvas

This low effort mechanism is a useful testing place when thoughts start to flow. It can help rationalise a variety of different thoughts.

The Mission Model Canvas, developed by Steve Blank and Alexander Osterwalder, is an adaptation of the Business Model Canvas designed for mission-driven organizations such as non-profits and government agencies. Unlike traditional businesses focused on revenue, it emphasizes achieving mission goals and delivering value to beneficiaries, replacing components like “Revenue Streams” with “Mission Achievement.” In the initial problem-definition phase, it helps organizations identify and test hypotheses about their mission, stakeholders, and assumptions to ensure alignment with their objectives and challenges.

Having jotted down your thoughts now add them into the Canvas bot. This will give you some questions back; some you will choose to gloss over, some will be helpful. (Note – this is an abridged version to not overwhelm).
